Finding myself distracted from doing the needed, instead, indulging in the visual world I always loved. Conjuring up a mental to-do list in my head to make things again. To get dirty with my paints and forgetting all else.
Highly possible this mind-wandering has to do with my little project yesterday. Spending all afternoon and all night wrapping gifts and tying little gold ribbons, drawing name tags and creating handmade thank-you cards. It was sweat and effort, but definitely I enjoyed every bit of it, down to the writing. I always loved writing. Remembering how much I loved to do these little things…
Some may say the children won’t remember, and they certainly cast some dark clouds over my enthusiastic heart with those harsh words. But perhaps the point though, is that I remembered. I remembered the smiles that showed up on their little faces, these smiles that brightened my heart. And that made all my effort worthwhile.
Now, to get back on track with my work…
